MORE THAN JUST MEDICAL ASSISTANCE
| Centro de Recuperación |
Every year, hundreds of individuals of many different species are admitted to the AMUS wildlife recovery centre. The majority are birds, with some mammals and reptiles. Work focuses on the conservation of affected species and the development of research projects that have the dual aims of saving the species and saving the habitat it is found in. In this way, many different disciplines and lines of inquiry converge: biological sciences; clinical medicine; forensics; embryology and artificial incubation; reproduction in avian raptor species (both diurnal and nocturnal); rehabilitation, captive breeding of orphaned chicks with brooding pairs of the same species; design and construction of specific installations; liberation strategies; radiotracking and evaluation of ecological conditions for released individuals- all form part of the main objective of this organisation.
